My name is Michele Spring and I not only envisioned and coded the actual app, but also write the blog and all social media.  I am a mom of two young boys who has learned through lots of experimentation and trials that the Paleo diet is the best for our family.  We started 3 years ago on the GAPS diet to help heal my then 2-year-old son of random food allergies to cinnamon and walnuts as well as eczema that cropped up after several rounds of antibiotics.  That diet not only did wonders for his allergies and eczema (both gone) but it also accelerated his speech at crazy intervals and made him the most even-keeled, non-aggressive kid in his daycare class.  After a little over a year on the GAPS diet everything we had put him on it for disappeared so we tried transitioning back to the Weston Price (WAPF) diet we had been on prior to GAPS.  But unfortunately every time we introduced grains, no matter how we prepared them, our son started exhibiting the same aggression and tantrums we had avoided for so long.  I myself noticed that I didn't seem to do so well with the grains either.  So we looked to the Paleo diet since it is more of a longer term lifestyle solution rather than a short-term, acute diet.  And we are so glad we did.  We are all thriving on it!  Of course I struggle with it sometimes and have some major emotional food connections, but as the months pass, my level of "bad" gets better and whereas a year ago on a emotional, sleep-lacking day I would have run for a gluten-filled chocolate chip muffin, now I just reach for a small piece of 85% dark chocolate.  I think it is all about baby steps, finding what works for you, and above all, listening to your body and knowing what makes it happy.

I love cooking, baking, sewing, and crafting and try to bring at least 2 of those loves into this blog and app.  I'm trying to learn photography too, but until I really get that figured out, most of the photography on the site and in the app is done by my beloved husband, Erik.  When he's not being dragged in front of yet another dish I have created to photograph it you can usually find him tending to our beautiful vegetable garden.  This is of course, when we aren't busy running after our kids or working our full time jobs, which is 90% of our time!

I hope you enjoy the blog and the app and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me!
